QTS 5.1 Storage & Snapshot Network & Virtual Switch Notification Center App Center. ![]() WIth Linux and ext4, QTS enables reliable storage for everyone with versatile value-added features and apps, such as snapshots, Plex media servers, and easy access of your personal cloud. Ive tried the stock Twonky, 6 and 7 and all suffer from rescan upon NAS boot. Twonky5 and Twonky6 require XML file editing.ġ. QTS is the operating system for entry- and mid-level QNAP NAS. Twonky on the Qnap is bugged and not fit for use, so I need another DLNA server. In properties window: check owner, group, and other RWX permissions 7. Locate following Directory: /mnt/ext/opt/twonkymedia 4. The Music tree can only be easily edited in Twonky4. Disable UPnP Server in QNAP Admin (Applications UPnP Media Server) 2. Now retry the iPad Kazoo and it will probably now work. The solution is to go in the Twonky Settings > Advanced > Media receivers and RESET LIST. But you may if you go to a PC/Mac and this does allow the same Music (or vice-versa) you will probably also using Twonkymedia. TWONKY ISSUES Twonky Media music greyed out or will not play If you are looking at the Music and the Music cannot be added to the Playlist or is grayed out. You need to buy a licence and update from Twonky Downloads V8.4 (QNAPx86_64) If it is connecting at a lower rate, you'd have to scale that 34Mb/s rate down accordingly, and it's also worth noting that a media stream to a player is likely not continuous it will be requesting chunks of data (ad more than the average rate) to fill its buffer, so the peak demands will be higher than the average rate (though the buffer should help sort most of that issue out) but it is interesting to ponder the actual requirements of a stream (and capacity of an 802.11 link) and why there is less headroom than you'd maybe think (from the labels on the box).Note: TwonkyMedia is not supported by QNAP on QNAP firmware QTS4.3 and later. Just for interest, that's maybe the data rate for the radio channel, but even if it connects at 54Mb/s, the maximum Ethernet data throughput at that rate (by the time you take encapsulation into account) is probably nearer to 34Mb/s (or even less if there are any 802.11b devices in the area if there are, it then has to use protection vectors to make 802.11b devices aware of when an 802.11g device is communicating, so that slows the 802.11g throughput even further). ![]() ![]() MKV files rarely go over 10 Mbps, while WiFi is at least 54 Mbps. MrVideo wrote:The WiFi bitrate is high enough that you should have no problems feeding 1080p MKV files. So, how do I get Twonky to leave well enough along and just send out the file, as is? ![]() In the Transcode section of Twonky, no boxes are checked. Can't tell, since Twonky is transcoding it. Now, that in itself might be an issue as the BD needs to scan the video, checking that it can play it and then go back to the start. Just send the file out the stream, as is. The server is attempting to transcode the video.
